Deltora Dragons
Dragons are large, magical, flying, reptillian creatures, most notably found in Deltora, also called the Land of Dragons for this reason, due to the land being home to large numbers of the magical beasts.[1]
Each Deltoran species of dragon is territorial to its respective territory and shares it with its respective tribe and gem. Once abundant in Deltora, dragon species steadily declined under hunting and persecution by the Shadow Lord's Ak-Baba, bringing them to the brink of extinction. Only one of each type of dragon survived slaughter by the Ak-Baba by entering a dormant sleep at the urging of Doran the Dragonlover until Lief, king of Deltora, woke them from their sleep
